Leviton Manufacturing was recognized last month by the International Law Office (ILO) and the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) -- sponsors of the Global Counsel Award -- for the world-class caliber of the company’s in-house IP attorneys. Members of Leviton’s IP (intellectual property) legal team received the prestigious award at a gala dinner held at Manhattan’s distinctive Cipriani 42nd Street ® venue. The company’s team of in-house attorneys was one of over 3,000 teams or individual attorneys nominated to receive the prestigious award. Now in its third year, the Global Counsel Awards recognize the achievements of corporate council departments in their chosen fields of specialization.

To identify winners, ILO judges conducted in-depth analysis of in-house lawyers and legal departments worldwide. The judges based their selection on criteria including effective communication, legal understanding, commercial awareness, depth and strength of team and management skills. Awards were presented to both individuals and teams of attorneys in the areas of competition, corporate tax, general commercial, intellectual property, litigation, M&A and regulatory policy.
